Citizen journalism means that the public people as we know as the citizen doing the professional journalist do. The process of those non-professional journalists are almost the same. they are collecting, reporting and analyzing the news and information. sometimes, citizen journalist will cooperate with professional journalist. that information can take many forms, from a podcast editorial to a report about a city council meeting on a blog. it can include text, pictures, audio and video. but it's basically all about communicating information of some kind.
Generally, people confused the words citizen journalism with other words like community journalism or civic journalism. but those words has different meaning which are non-professional journalist producing or broadcasting news and informations.
Talking about the reason that why citizen journalism has widely provided in recently years, is that the platform has been changed. for example, the internet. Depending on this platform, people can provide their own news or entertaining informations on their blog or broadcast on the website. it is more simple and convenient for people to say what they want to say.
